The Flying Boy of VYN-5

Privacy policy

Effective date: 19 September 2026

Edwin Chan (“we”, “us”) provides The Flying Boy of VYN-5 (“the game”). This policy explains how information is handled in the game and on these legal pages. Contact us at c.edwin2011@gmail.com.

1. Information handled by the game

You do not need to create a developer account to play. The game stores progress, scores, research unlocks, settings, and purchase-access information on your device. Device backups may contain this local data, depending on your Apple settings.

The game does not request your contacts or precise location. It does not use your camera or microphone for gameplay highlights.

2. Analytics and crash reporting

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand gameplay and improve the game. Information includes app launches, screens visited, stages and modes played, session and active play time, scores, outcomes, progression, settings, and purchase-flow events. Firebase also processes app-instance identifiers and device/app information, such as operating system, app version, and approximate regional information.

Firebase Crashlytics helps diagnose crashes and service errors using installation identifiers, crash traces, device/app details, and gameplay context. Our custom telemetry does not send player names, email addresses, Game Center account IDs, payment account identifiers, or player-entered text. These technical identifiers are pseudonymous; this does not mean all collected information is anonymous.

Analytics and crash reporting are enabled automatically in the production app. There is currently no in-game switch to disable these services. Firebase Analytics IDFV collection and advertising-personalization signals are disabled in the app configuration.

3. Purchases

Apple processes in-app payments. RevenueCat helps verify purchases, restore access, and maintain the Pro entitlement using an app-user identifier and purchase/transaction information. We do not receive your payment-card details. The game also records purchase-flow outcomes and whether Pro is owned for product analytics.

See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.

4. Game Center

When you use Apple Game Center, the game submits scores and displays leaderboard information, including player display names and rankings. Your Game Center profile and scores may be visible to other players under Apple’s settings. Manage your account and sharing choices in your device’s Game Center settings. See Game Center and privacy.

5. Highlights, diagnostics, and support

Optional highlights use Apple ReplayKit to buffer gameplay on your device with recording permission. The camera and microphone are disabled, and exported clips contain video only. Clips are not automatically uploaded to us. You choose whether to save a clip to Photos or share it with another service. Temporary clips are removed as they are replaced or discarded; saved or shared copies remain until you remove them from their destination.

Performance reports can contain device details, frame timing, memory, thermal state, and gameplay context. These reports are stored locally; you can manage them through Performance & Heat. They are separate from automatic Firebase crash reports. If you email support or choose to share a report, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you provide and use them to handle your request.

6. Website hosting and sharing

These pages use Firebase Hosting. Google processes request information, including IP addresses, to serve and secure the website. The landing page includes a gameplay video embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube receives request and device information when the video loads and may store data or cookies when you play or interact with it. The website does not include analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or forms, and its fonts are hosted with the pages.

Information is handled by the service providers described above to operate their features. We may also disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect users, enforce lawful rights, or address fraud and security incidents. Providers may process data in countries other than yours under their applicable data-protection arrangements.

7. Retention and deletion

Local progress and settings remain until removed through available controls or deletion of the app; backups and copies saved outside the app may remain separately. Uninstalling does not automatically erase information already held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.

Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal, and Hosting retains IP data for a few months. Analytics data follows the retention settings of the linked Google Analytics property. Purchase records are kept as needed to verify and restore access and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements. Support correspondence is kept as needed to resolve requests and meet legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.

To request access, correction, or deletion of information we control, email c.edwin2011@gmail.com. We may request limited information to verify and locate the relevant records. We cannot always associate an email address with pseudonymous gameplay identifiers. Some records must be retained for legal reasons; we will explain applicable limitations. For Apple-account or Game Center data, use Apple’s privacy controls.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully performed.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide requested features and purchases, pursue legitimate interests in reliability and game improvement, comply with legal obligations, or rely on consent where required. You can decline highlight recording, manage Photos permissions, and change Game Center settings. Stopping use of the app stops new in-app collection, but does not itself request deletion of existing records.

9. Children

The game is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Where local law requires a higher age or parental consent, those requirements apply.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when features or data practices change. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law; we will obtain additional consent where required.
